Yes! Blockchain technology is applicable even in the creative industry. With its cryptographic hashing and use of NFTs, blockchain can be used by creators to leverage their creations to their full monetary value. In other words, with this technology, creators can get paid every time their content is used by some other creator, without worrying about platforms eating up part of the earnings.

What are NFTs?

In simplest terms, an NFT is a digital art that holds a certain amount of value, and can be owned and collected by a person. Think of a digital drawing, or a GIF perhaps, that is one of a kind, and only you own it. You may not be able to hang it on a wall, but only you will have the original piece on your hard drive.

The picture above is also an NFT, a one-of-a-kind digital art piece. In due time, it will become a valuable piece of art. When it increases in value, you shall be able to sell it for its price in value, just like any other sale and purchase of historic artwork.

How big is the NFT market going?

Answering this question is like answering the Bigfoot question- is it or is it not really there? No one can say.

Some people think that NFT is the future of art collection, and it is going to get bigger. While others say that NFT has had its big boom already and is now over. It depends on which expert you ask.

What we can say for sure, is that NFT sale and collection is completely legitimate and people are actually buying and selling, for sure, including famous people.

In 2021, Musician Grimes sold around $6 million worth of digital artworks in an auction on Nifty Gateway. One of the main pieces of her collection (out of ten), fetched around $389,000 alone.

In another instance, the Founder of Twitter, Jack dorsey, sold one of his tweets for just under 3 million.

William Shatner has sold Shatner-themed trading cards (one of it is an X-ray of his teeth).

Someone bought the digital artwork of a cat named Dragon, with chestnut coloured eyes, and body of the color of cottoncandy, for $172,000.

Are there examples of Indian celebrities who have dabbled in NFT?

Many Indian celebrities are buying and selling NFTs now, including Bollywood Actors. Here are some examples of Big-League Bollywood celebs who have traded in NFTs.

1. Amitabha Bachchan

Amitabha Bachchan sold his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s poem 'Madhushala' in his own recorded voice as NFT Collectibles in November 2021. Another part of that same collection was his signed poster of Sholay.

2. Salman Khan

In October 2021, the Dabangg actor teamed up with Bollycoin, a Bollywood NFT marketplace, to launch his NFT collection. Through Bollycoin, he launched 200 NFTs based on his hit film Dabangg, 42 out of which were scenes from the film.

3. Rajnikanth

In July 2021, Rajinikanth launched NFTs based on his 2007 Tamil action blockbuster film ‘Shivaji The Boss’. For this he partnered with Singapore-based NFT Marketplace Diginoor.io

This NFT collection featured 17 NFTs, which were immediately sold out.

4. Kamal Haasan

Influenced by Amitabha Bachchan, South superstar Kamal Haasan, too, launched his NFT collection.

Kamal Haasan launched his NFTs through celebrity NFT platform Fantico. His NFT collection features 100 to 1000 NFTs based on movie posters, souvenirs, avatars of his film and persona.

A R Rahman is all set to join Team Le Musk on the Cannes Red Carpet as part of the Indian delegation.

AR Rahman, the Indian Icon who has scored not only some 500-1000 movies like Slumdog Millionaire , 2.0, and Tamasha, but also captured the hearts of millions of people with his versatility in the regional musical traditions of India.

The acclaimed music composer and recipient of several international awards is all set to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for his Directorial debut, Le Musk. Rahman joined the Indian delegation at Cannes alongside Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.

The maestro’s directorial debut Le Musk, screened at Cannes XR, in convergence with Marché du Film, as part of the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

Rahman was accompanied by other cast and crew members, Guy Burnet, who plays a guitarist in Le Musk, and Ravindra Velhal, an executive producer and VR technology director for Le Musk.

Le Musk is all set to hit the screens soon. With cinematic surrealism, this film will be a showcase of the union of technology and cinema. Several other big artists like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mame Khan and Ricky Kej also joined the delegation.

After a long and incredibly successful journey as a musical maestro, A. R. Rahman has ventured into direction with Le Musk, a film of an enchanting essence and fresh perspective to it.

Rahman walked the red carpet with British actor Burnet, who has carved a niche market for himself, with films such as Mortdecai and Pitch Perfect 3 and television shows such as The Feed and Ray Donavan. Velhal, who also walked the red carpet alongside Rahman, has the expertise of two decades in technology due to his stint with Intel. He has also mastered cinematography in Hollywood with films like Spider-Man: Far From Home, Dunkirk, Save Every Breath and FirstMan.

Le Musk is a tribute to the musical genius of and footprints in cinema left by A. R. Rahman.

Through the eyes of Le Musk, a completely new angle of cinematography is being explored with VR and realistic narration. The film was screened at Cannes XR on the 20th of May, 2022.

11 year old Nishaad Shah's debut album wins Grammy

New York-based Indian singer Falguni Shah, known by her stage name Falu, won a Grammy Award for her soulful album 'A Colorful World' in the best children's album category. Her own son, Nishaad Shah, was a part of this album and was also present at the event. The eleven year old was very proud of his mother and himself for winning this award but at the same time he was nervous as well.

While this Grammy is special for many reasons to the Shah family, it marks a beautiful milestone for various cultures within the US. The album has found an audience in everyone from an immigrant Gujarati household in Jersey City to a mixed-race Puerto Rican home in Harlem. The album and the family have received a lot of love from everywhere around the world, especially from proud Indians.

Nishaad reveals that he was extremely anxious to go on the stage, even worrying about accidentally dropping the trophy. However, he was also very excited to receive the honour. He aims to become an astronaut when he grows up, while pursuing music as a hobby as well, just like his dad. The 11 year old Beatles fan also derives inspiration from Lady Gaga and Olivia Rodrigo. He revealed he was looking forward to both his mother’s and Lady Gaga's performance at the Grammys. He considers Music the food of his soul and never wants to give up on it, even amidst his space aspirations.

Having worked hard to juggle both studies and his passion for music, one advice that Nishaad shared with his fellow kids is "Try your best and never give up on your dreams''. He says the balance is mostly fine but sometimes it can get hard to practice during weekdays due to school work. However, he makes sure he practises his music on the weekends.

Nishaad’s mother encouraged him to do a mini chilla where he sat in one place and sang one raga (yaman) for four hours continuously for forty days during the previous summer. It was a very different experience for him as he had to learn how to concentrate on one scale and improve on it for four continuous hours. After doing chilla he realised that he was able to apply that level of focus in school too, motivating him to work harder.

William Hurt: Hollywood Loses Yet Another Irreplaceable Gem

William Hurt, one of the OGs of Hollywood, who had pulled millions into the theatres through his acting skills and charisma in movies like Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985), died on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 71. The Oscar-winning actor died due to natural causes.

William had been into acting right from his school days, playing the lead role in several school plays, and even serving as the vice-president of the Drama Club.

In 2018, it was announced that Hurt had terminal prostate cancer, that had already metastasized to his bones. "It is with great dismay that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week before his 72nd birthday. He died peacefully, among family, of natural causes." says his son Will in a statement

Actors Mark Ruffalo, Stephen King, Albert Brooks and many more mourned his demise.

"So truthful, real and always compelling. Too young to be saying goodbye. This one hurts. RIP William Hurt," Crampton tweeted.

Author Stephen King shared his despair on Twitter with the statement: "Very sorry to hear about the passing of William Hurt. He was a fine actor, an Academy Award winner. He also did a classic reading of my story 'Low men in yellow coats,' from HEARTS IN ATLANTIS. I loved hitchhiking on his immense talent."

William Hurt had not only carved a niche for himself in Hollywood but had affirmed his position in the hearts of people as well, with his work ethic and an impressive and striking visage.

His daring work in various films earned him various accolades, such as a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and the three consecutive nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actor, for ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ (1985), Children of a Lesser God(1986), and Broadcast News(1987), and an Oscar for the first.

William Hurt also had a tremendously difficult personal life, lined with struggles with alcohol and drugs. However, his versatility and his terrific acting career will, indubitably, remain the pièce de résistance of his life and screen career.

MSU bestowed with 9000 Digital Units of Rare Music by Naad Sagar Archives

March 2, 2022, Vadodara: MS University in Baroda, which is known for its highly acclaimed performing arts faculty, has been bestowed with a collection of rare audio-video archives, comprising 9000 individual units of South Asian music, by the ‘Naad Saagar’ archives, New Delhi.

The compilation consists of performances, interviews, discussions by masters on numerous elements of music, coaching and lecture sessions by masters for disciples, casual talks, coaching workshops, All India Radio broadcasts of the 1950s, 60s and 70s and various other forms of recordings by legendary music maestros.

The move was to enable students of music to get first-hand access to rare art.

The digital recordings embody the works of maestros like Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Vilayat Hussain Khan, Sharafat Hussain Khan, Pandit S N Ratanjankar of Agra Gharana, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of Patiala Gharana, Pandit Krishnarao Shankar, Pandit Balasaheb Poonchwale of Gwalior gharana, Kesarbai Kerkar, Mogubai Kurdikar of Jaipur gharana, Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, Hirabai Barodekar, Gangubai Hangal amongst others.

Digital recordings of scholar musicians like Pandit K.G.Ginde, Pandit Dinkar Kaimini and musicologist Dr Ashok Ranade are also in the list.

Indian Composer Ricky Kej's latest album Divine Tides nominated for a Grammy

Former Grammy winner Ricky Kej has been nominated yet again for a Grammy, along with American Musician Stewart Copeland for their latest album ‘Divine Tides’.

Divine Tides was directed by Lahari Velu and produced by Lahari Music.’ The album contains nine songs and eight music videos.

Ricky’s music is mostly cross-cultural, but not without a strong hint of Indian music. He won a Grammy in 2015, for his album ‘Winds of Samsara’. Stewart Copeland, who has won the Grammy five times previously, is the founder and drummer of the legendary British rock group ‘The Police’.

Ricky is the youngest person from India to have won a Grammy honor. He is also the fourth Indian to do so.

Everything You Need to Know about the Performers in the Padma Awardees' Index of 2021

The Padma Awards, which are known as the most prestigious and highest civilian honours conferred by the government of India, were finally awarded on October 8th and 9th 2021 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Ram Nath Kovind.

The ceremony was supposed to be held in 2020 but was delayed in 2021 owing to the worldwide coronavirus crisis and subsequent lockdown.

Out of the 119 recipients, 25 awardees belong/formerly belonged to the Performative Arts Industry. From Sattriya Folk Dancers to Global Theatre and Screen Direction, the Padma Awards recognized the immeasurable contribution of a veritable array of humongously talented Performers across the length and breadth of the globe.

Here are some interesting facts about the Artists who have been conferred with the Padma Awards in 2021:

1. SP Balasubrahmanyam:

S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, was not just a prominent playback actor and singer in the South Indian Film Industry but was an extremely revered artist in Hindi cinema too. After his debut in 1966, he went on to sing over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages. Balasubrahmanyam has won six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for his works in four different languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi; 25 Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards for his work in Telugu cinema; and numerous other state awards from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. His Bollywood hits like ‘Didi Tera Devar Deewana’ and ‘Saathiya Ye Tune Kya Kiya’ remain in the collective consciousness as legendary masterpieces till today.

Unfortunately, this epic performer left this world for the heavenly abode after being hospitalized for over a month, battling COVID-19.

2. Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra

The voice of the female lead in the legendary song, ‘Ye Haseen Wadiyan Ye Khula Aasmaan’, also known as the nightingale of South India, Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra, better known as K.S. Chithra, has recorded over 25,000 songs over a career spanning 24 years. She is also the only singer from India who was honored by the Government of China at Qinghai International Music and Water Festival in 2009. Chithra has also been awarded the National Excellence Award 2001 by Limca Book of Records

3. Gulfam Ahmad Khan

Gulfam Ahmed Khan, who was awarded the title of Padma Shri recently, is an Indian Rabab and Sarod player. Through his unparalleled musical gift, he has become the ambassador of intercultural relations between India and Afghanistan. He is enormously celebrated and respected in Afghanistan and has many Afghan nationals under his tutelage.

His journey as a music teacher in Afghanistan began when he impressed the locals there with his skill on the Rabab, while visiting his daughter and son-in-law in Afghanistan.

Soon his fame reached the Indian embassy in Afghanistan, where senior officials took no time in inviting him to start classes teaching the instrument, right there at the embassy.

Today, Gulfam Ahmed Khan has earned the title of Ustad in Afghanistan.

4. Rama Swamy Annavarapu

Oldest among all the Padma awardees, the internationally acclaimed violin maestro Ramaswamy has been providing completely free violin training for nearly 6 decades. Born on March 23, 1926, Annavarapu learned Carnatic music under Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu.

Annavarapu is a classical Carnatic violin maestro. He accompanied Carnatic musicians such as Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu, M Balamuralikrishna, Arayakudi Ramanuja Iyyengar, Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar. He invented new ragas and talams such as Vandana Ragam, Sri Durga Ragam, Tinetradi Tala and Vedadi Tala'.

Rama Swamy is an ardent advocate of introducing Indian ancient and classical arts in every school and music college in every district in order to save our ancient heritage from dying out.

5. Subbu Arumugam

Subbu Arumugam is an internationally acclaimed Villu Paatu performer- Villu Paatu or Villadichampaatu, is an ancient form of musical story-telling, originating from the Southern Indian states. Arumugam has dedicated nearly 70 years of his life to the revival of this dying art.

He started writing for noted actor-comedian NS Krishnan, who helped him generate interest in this art form.

6. Radhe Shyam Barle

Notable Panthi Folk Dancer Dr. Radheshyam Barle, was born on October 9, 1966, in Khola village of Patan tehsil of Durg district. Along with studying MBBS, he also holds a diploma in folk music from Indira Kala Sangeet University.

Dr. Radhe Shyam has been instrumental in the proliferation of Panthi folk dance from Chhattisgarh for more than 35 years.

7. Peter Brook

Veteran British Theatre and Film Director Peter Brook, who adapted the Indian epic "Mahabharata" into a stage play. He has been instrumental in bringing the international glory this ancient Indian masterpiece deserves.

8. Gopiram Bargayan Burabhokot

Veteran Assamese folk musician from Majuli, Shri Gopiram Bargayan Burabhakat, was conferred with Padma Shri in 2021. He has been known for grooming the Sattriya traditional music for over seven decades.

9. Wayan Dibia

Wayan Dibia is Bali's most influential Kecak Dancer and Scholar. Kecak is a traditional Indonesian art form depicting chapters of the Ramanayana.

This tradition has been around since the 1930s. It is a form that developed from a traditional trance dance called “Sanghyang” that involves mediums who, when they have entered a trance, are guided by villagers around the village to offer a blessing. To accompany that, they perform Kecak, a form of focal chanting.

10. Parshuram Vishram Gangavane

Parshuram is a folk artist from Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his instrumental work in preserving the 500-year-old art of Chitrakathi storytelling. Chitrakathi is that artform in which stories are narrated with the help of visual aids.

Parshuram belongs to the Thakar tribe, a tribe known for practicing the ancient art of Chitrakathi for centuries. In fact, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to employ them as spies, because they were wandering minstrels. Chhatrapati Shivaji banked on the fact that these Chitrakathi artists would be going from door to door after the performance to play the veena and collect bakshish (like rice, cashew nuts, and kokam), which would allow them to extract political information. The ruler fondly called the group “Butterflies of the Forest”, because they would flit from one part of the forest to the other.

11. Purnamasi Jani

Purnamasi Jani, fondly known as Tadisaru Bai in the region, is a Tribal Singer and Social Activist from Kandhamal, Odisha. She has sung thousands of songs over 6 decades promoting social causes in Odia, Kui, and Sanskrit.

Born in Charipada village under Khajuripada block of Kandhamal district, Purnamasi was married at a young age. Over the span of her married life, she gave birth to six children, none of whom survived. Stricken by grief, she sought solace in meditation and devotion. Soon, she accompanied some saints to Tadisaru hill near her village for doing 'Tapasya’. Years later when she returned to her village, people regarded her as a saint and began calling her Tadisaru Bai. She then started singing devotional songs and writing poems.

12. Manjamma Jogati:

Manmjamma Jogati is a Folk Dancer of Jogamma heritage and the first transwoman President of Karnataka Janapada Academy. Before heading the state’s top institution for folk arts, Manjamma or Manjunath Shetty, has faced many hardships in her personal life, all because she was born as a boy, but started identifying as a woman. Battling family shame, abuse and abandonment, mental trauma, and begging on the streets for food, she finally found Jogati Nritya (a folk performance of the Jogappas, a transgender community who believe themselves married to the goddess Yellamma.) Later, she became friends with Kaalavva, a folk artiste from Hagaribommanahalli. That is when she found her confidence, assertion, and finally, herself.

13. Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri

Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri is a senior Malayali Lyricist, Poet, Music Director, Actor, Singer, Screenwriter, Music Therapist, and Performer of Carnatic Music from Kozhikode who has written over 1500 songs. Apart from being a successful film Music Lyricist, he also runs a music school and promotes music for therapeutic purposes. Namboodiri’s heartfelt prose has struck a chord with the youth of Kerala and Malayalam-speaking communities.

14. Mahesh Kanodia, Naresh Kanodia

Mahesh and Naresh Kanodia were Gujarati folk singers from Mehsana who had worked in over 100 movies over 4 decades. There were prominent figures in the Gujarati film industry. Naresh Kanodia was actually, the first dancing star in Gujarati film industry, and was often known as the Amitabh Bachchan of Gujarati Film Industry.

Both the brothers died within two days of each other.

15. K Kesavasamy

K Kesavasamy is a String Puppeteer from Puducherry, who has been performing the art form for the last 4 decades- performances for educational purposes and social messages.

The retired government school teacher had initially started using puppets as a form of visual aid in the education of his students. Soon thereafter, he started enjoying it so much that he immersed himself completely in the art form.

16. Lakha Khan

This Manganiyar Folk Singer from Jodhpur, who is a master of Bhajans and Sufi Kalams, is one of the last remaining masters of the Sindhi Sarangi.

The Manganiyars is a Muslim community, which relies on singing and playing musical instruments in functions for a living. Even though these communities play Hindu devotional songs, they often face religious discrimination.

17. Ramchandra Manjhi

Ramchandra Manjhi is a 95-year-old Naach performer from Bihar, who has been instrumental in carrying forward the legacy of Grameen Natak for over 8 decades.

In his 80 years on stage, Manjhi has always strived for democracy in art and entertainment. His first preference in the audience is always the rural community, which have no other forms of accessible entertainment.

18. Dulal Manki

Dulal Manki is a renowned Assamese Singer from Tinsukia, popularly known as Jhumar Samrat. He belongs to the tea-tribes of Assam, and mainly sings folk songs originating from this particular community.

19. Rewben Mashangva

Rewben Mashangva, also known as the Father of Naga Folk Blues, was conferred the Padma Shri, for his immense contribution in resurrecting Manipur's Tangkhul Naga musical heritage.

Born to a carpenter’s family in Ukhrul district, Reuben tried his hand at carpentry. As a young child, he used to carry his finished wooden pieces to the nearby cultural fairs for sale. Even while selling wooden pieces, he would concentrate more on the performers on the stage than on selling wood. Soon after he realized that he would rather become a musician than a carpenter.

20. KK Ramachandra Pulavar

KK Ramachandra Pulavar is a Shadow Puppeteer (an art known as Tholpavakoothu in Kerala) from Kerala, who has performed in more than 45 countries on Indian culture and mythologies.

From new puppets and shows to awareness programs on COVID-19 to performances themed on the Panchatantra, The Mahabharatha, and legends of Lord Ayyappa, Mahabali and The Bible (Yesukoothu) have been developed by Pulavar. Shows based on the life of Buddha and Gandhi have also been staged at many venues in India and abroad with narratives in Hindi and English.

21. Kanaka Raju

Kanaka Raju is a Gussadi dancer from Asifabad, and he received the Padma Shri because of his contribution to preserving the dying tribal art form of Gussadi dance by training Adivasi youth for over decades.

The 80-year-old belongs to the Gond tribe and is a native of Marlawai village in Jainoor Mandal, Asifabad in Telangana.

The Gusadi dance is performed during the Dandari festival which is celebrated for 20 days (10 days before and 10 days after Deepavali). Artistes wear a headgear known as “Mal Jali” in Gondi language, which is designed with over 10,000 peacock feathers. They also decorate themselves with horns of rams and deer, and cover their bodies with ash, and wear beads on their arms while draping animal skin around them while Gusadi is performed.

22. Bombay Jayashri Ramnath

Bombay Jayashri Ramnath is one of India’s prominent Carnatic vocalists from Tamil Nadu. She is known for her performances nationally and internationally across 35 countries.

The success of Ramnath’s growth as a singer can be credited to her mother. Seetha Ramnath lost her husband at a very young age and was forced to teach music to kids to earn a living. It was then that she realized that her daughter Jaya, then aged three, who used to expertly pick up the nuances of the Ranjani Varnam from just the other room, was extremely musically gifted. Seetha’s tastes in music were unusually eclectic and she believed in exposing Jayashri to a wide range of musical influences. Whenever she heard a good musician or teacher, she made sure Jayashri had a chance to learn from him or her.

23. Satyaram Reang

Satyaram Reang is a Tribal Hojagiri dancer from Tripura, who has been instrumental in conserving & promoting his native tribe's traditional dance for over 5 decades

Reang, born in 1943, belongs to the Reang tribal community, was born at Dashamipara, a distant tribal village of South Tripura. He started Hojagiri Academy, the only one of its kind in Tripura, on his own land. The veteran artist has been instrumental in promoting Hojagiri dance in the international cultural arena, having represented Tripura and India in the erstwhile Soviet Russia in 1987-88 in a cultural event.

24. Kartar Singh

One of the foremost Gurbani singers today, Kartar Singh is a scholar from Ludhiana who has authored multiple books over his 6 plus decades of work

Rashmi Agarwal is an Indian Classical singer and composer based in Delhi, specializing in Light Classical Sufi/Bhakti and Ghazal singing. With her profound grasp over the various styles of devotional and spiritual music, she has made a name for herself as a reputed Indian Singer..

She is the first and only Indian woman to win the Grand-Prix Award at the prestigious IX International World Music Festival SharqTaronalari (Melodies of Orient) in August, 2013 at Samarkand, Uzbekistan, organized regularly under the patronage of UNESCO.

As an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) as well as the Ministry of Culture, Rashmi has achieved the privilege to perform on various national and international forums, including the USA, UK, Mexico, Indonesia, Uzbekistan,Turkmenistan, Australia etc.

In October 2018, she did a concert tour to Mexico, representing India in Sufi music at the prestigious Cervantino International Festival, where she received a lot of love and admiration from diverse patrons.

She was invited to perform at The Ethnic World Music Festival, Bali, Indonesia in Nov,2013.

In December, 2015 she was invited to perform at the prestigious 20th Anniversary Summit of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

After performing in various concerts held over multiple global cities in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Egypt, France, South Africa, Mauritius, etc. Rajat Prasanna, the esteemed flautist of Hindustani Classical Music is coming to The Maitri Project to put a smile on our faces.

Belonging to the Benaras Gharana of Hindustani music, Rajat is the scion of a reputed family rooted in Indian classical music. His father, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasanna, as well as his grandfather, the flute maestro, Pandit Raghunath Prasanna, played a great role as mentors and music teachers in his life.

Rajat is a highly sought-after artist in Indian classical arts, and has been the recipient of the prestigious CCRT Scholarship for Young Artists. His long affiliation with Doordarshan, All India Radio and ICCR has had him touring around the world for numerous collaborations with national and international artists, lecture-demonstrations, workshops, etc. representing his country through his sweet Flute melodies.
